Dear President Trump,

An atomic North Korea is an existential threat to the United States.

If your talk with the leader of North Korea does not work, here is a scenario based on the dilemma that President Truman faced. He used this plan to end WWII. His use of the two atomic bombs caused Imperial Japan to surrender unconditionally and WWII to end with a minimum loss of life. See the research at http://www.jrcministries.org/religion-a-politics/26-the-atomic-bomb-myth.html.)

1. We have an atomic arsenal large enough to destroy North Korea. Life is precious to us in the United States, so here is an alternative:

2. In my opinion, we should knock out all strategic targets, with unannounced surgical strikes. This would minimize innocent lives lost. North Korea couldn't retaliate. Then demand unconditional surrender. If they don't surrender, then do what we have to do.

3. With Allies, begin feeding and treating the survivors. North Koreans would need to be treated with respect and re-educated. Concurrently, start war crimes trials.

4. North and South Korea should be united under the government of South Korea and renamed Korea. Then, North Korea could be rebuilt by South Korea with help from our allies, as General of the Army Douglas MacArthur rebuilt Japan, spiritually, mentally, spiritually and materially. It is tragic that former US Presidents did not solve this horrific problem before North Korea had atomic weapons.

5. Since North Korea was a buffer for China during the Korean war, we must reassure China that we wish good relations. Diplomats should remind China of the American Volunteer Group (The Flying Tigers), commanded by MG Claire Lee Chennault and how we joined with them to fight Imperial Japan.

6. I was privileged to know two pilots in the AVG, who have since passed away. One was MG Chennault’s pilot and the other was an injured enlisted pilot who had served as his driver. These two were American heroes and they shared with me some touching war stories.

I will furnish my name for this letter, if you desire.
